Biggest moves: LTC races to 9-month high, ATOM extends recent gains

Litecoin hit a nine-month high on February 1 after breaking a major resistance level. The price surge comes as the global cryptocurrency market cap rose slightly today, up 0.57% at the time of writing. Cosmos also made notable moves, with its price rising during the second session.

Litecoin (LTC)

Litecoin (LTC) hit a nine-month high on Wednesday as its price rose above a key resistance level.

LTC/USD hit a high of $97.73 early in today’s session, less than 24 hours after trading at a low of $93.05.

As a result of the surge, Litecoin rose to its highest point since May 5, when its price peaked at $106.86.

Looking at the chart, this move occurred after breaking the upper limit of $95.50 and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) collided with its own resistance.

At the time of writing, the index is tracking 65.96, which is slightly below the resistance level of 66.00.

Since approaching this point, initial gains have declined somewhat and LTC is currently trading at $95.58.

Cosmos (ATOM)

Cosmos (ATOM) saw another notable move in today’s session, with the token rising for the second day in a row.

ATOM/USD hit a high of $13.84 this morning, after hitting a low of $13.15 on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s rally brought Cosmos above the $13.50 upper limit and close to its highest point since November 8.

While this resistance was breaking, the 14-day RSI was approaching 66.00.

At the time of writing, the index is tracking 61.77 after rebounding from the support of 58.00.

If this upper limit of 66.00 is reached, ATOM will likely trade above $14.00.
