Solana records record monthly new addresses in January
The number of new addresses on the Solana blockchain increased significantly during the month of January, according to The Block’s data dashboard.
Number of new addresses per month Solana brush
-1.27%
The last all-time high for unique new addresses traded on the Solana network was in May 2022, when there were 11.72 million.
The surge in new Solana addresses comes amid a surge in new users joining native DEXs and memecoins like Wen and Bonk. The launch of its native token at the end of the month by Jupiter, the network’s largest decentralized exchange integrator, likely contributed to this increase.
The 7-day average of daily active addresses has also increased by more than a third since the beginning of the year, although this figure is still lower than activity in May 2022.
The network’s native coin, Solana (SOL), recovered significantly from its 2022 lows, reaching a yearly high of $120 by the end of December 2023. Prices have fallen slightly since then.
According to The Block’s pricing page, SOL is up 6% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $101.3.
