Experience the madness of cyborg cats in Beam Boys slots

Hacksaw is getting all kinds of weird with its latest release. As a result, it wasn’t that surprising when I played the Beam Boys slot and saw a cyborg cat shooting lasers from its eyes. Still, I was still curious where the idea came from, and I was glad I went looking for it. According to the game’s official Hacksaw page, the concept was a world where “kittens finally team up with laser pointers.” I mean, how could I not like this game?!

The Wild Laser Cat symbol can appear on reels 2 and 6. When you do so, a laser beam will fire from your eyes from right to left until it reaches reel 1. Any location hit by the laser beam will turn wild and displace all other symbols, completing a winning combination.

The slot’s free spins feature is a bit more traditional than most features in recent Hacksaw releases. If you hit 3, 4, 5 or 6 FS symbols you will receive 5, 10, 20 and 40 free spins respectively. And that’s it. Free spins can be re-triggered somewhat by using 2 or 3 FS symbols during the free spins round, giving 2 and 4 extra spins respectively.

However, the purchase bonus feature is unique. And it’s confusing. Therefore, all features work around the FeatureSpins mechanism, which scores certain features and manages the likelihood of winning an amount. In most practical terms, this mechanic means that the more you spend on free spins rounds, the more spins you will receive and the better your chances of getting the Wild Laser Cat symbol.

Is Beam Boys slot a journey or a travesty?

The maximum multiplier for Beam Boys slot is 12,500x. This means that if you bet $20 per spin, you can win $250,000. However, this slot also offers a good entry point with a minimum bet of just $0.10 per spin. The slot offers variable volatility via a switch to the left of the reels (in the desktop version of the game), allowing you to select either “normal” or “extreme” volatility. It offers an RTP of 96%.

The slot has an almost monochromatic black and white art style interrupted by pops of neon blue and red (colors vary depending on the level of variability). This is a style that Hacksaw continues to use. This is probably the first time you noticed ITERO. But it’s not the first game Hacksaw has taken in that direction. Even the cats in Beam Boys slot aren’t entirely unique to Hacksaw. The developers ran very similar characters for RIP City and Chaos Crew. Normally this would irritate me, but with Hacksaw we have a solid brand identity and I love that people keep coming back to it. But I want to tell you that I love this game. Because each game is a new endeavor with incredible execution. And Beam Boys slot might just be the best of them all. I’d give it an 8 out of 10 and I’ll tell you why. Clicking between the Normal and Maximum Volatility toggles does not change the music. It’s small, but I think it’s such a missed opportunity. They could also have added a few more themed bonus features, which Hacksaw traditionally does well.

If you’re looking for other slots from Hacksaw that I highly recommend, try Densho and Immortal Desire.
