Scroll is developing a ZK rollup that is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Their proof system supports direct verification of Ethereum blocks with a single, concise proof. This means Ethereum transaction finality will be much faster and gas costs will be lower.
How does ZK-Rollup work?

You can then receive 1 of 3 NFTs based on the distribution date (on or before November 9, 24, and December 9, 2023, respectively). The earlier you distribute, the higher your NFT will rank! To deploy a smart contract on the Scroll mainnet and qualify for a Scroll Origins NFT, you must first link funds from the Ethereum mainnet to the Scroll mainnet (this is for gas fees when deploying a smart contract). Then go here and select the “ERC-20” tab to create your own token. Select a name and symbol for your token. Under “Features” select “Mintable” and under “Access Control” select “Ownable”. Then click “Open in Remix” in the top right corner. In the new window, click on “Solidity Compiler” (the two arrow buttons in the left sidebar) and make sure there is a green check mark next to it. Then click the blue “Create Contract” button and the “Deploy and Execute Transaction” button (the one with the Ethereum logo as an arrow). Under “Environment”, click the drop-down menu and select “Injected Provider-MetaMask”. This will pop up your MetaMask wallet to log in and make sure you are on the Scroll mainnet. Go back to the webpage, paste your wallet address next to the “Deploy” button and click it. Confirm your transaction when prompted by MetaMask.
To ensure your smart contract has been deployed correctly, go to https://scroll.io/developer-nft/check-eligibility to check eligibility for your NFT. If you are eligible, you will be notified and asked to return to claim on December 15, 2023.
