FutureBit partners with Rutgers University to educate students about Bitcoin
FutureBit, a leading provider of consumer-focused Bitcoin products, has unveiled a higher education pilot program in collaboration with universities across the United States, according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine. This initiative is one of the first to bring Bitcoin hardware into an academic environment, with Rutgers University Business School being one of the early partners.

“RBSCryptoLab is a resource for Blockchain Hub members that allows Rutgers students to build, run and maintain mining rigs,” said Mark Guthner, a professor leading the initiative at Rutgers. “Furthermore, it combines theory and practice to facilitate the learning process. Students learn how blockchain works and how distributed networks perform important functions. RBSCryptoLab’s latest acquisition is the Apollo Bitcoin nodes and mining machines designed, manufactured and sold by FutureBit.”
FutureBit seeks to revolutionize the next-generation learning experience by providing a plug-and-play Bitcoin system to educational institutions across the country. According to the release, students will learn the complexities of Bitcoin as a monetary network, as well as understand its decentralized nature and impact on society at a technical level.
“The only way to remove the current obstacles in our society is to first ensure that the next generation is educated about the superiority of decentralized systems and other forms of governance,” said John Stefanopoulos, founder of FutureBit. “Students across the country can now see Bitcoin in action in real time right before their eyes, which, more than anything, sparks curiosity about what Bitcoin is. “I’m so excited for the world they will create.”
Through this partnership with Rutgers University, FutureBit hopes to pave the way for a future where Bitcoin education plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation.
