WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The head of the Federal Railroad Administration on Wednesday urged: Norfolk Southern (NYSE:) focused on safety after a group of activist investors proposed replacing the company’s top management.

FRA administrator Amit Bose wrote to CEO Alan Shaw: “We once again emphasize that the only way to ensure the immediate and long-term success of NS is through a relentless focus on safety… Any setbacks to safety, whether due to a change in leadership or otherwise, are The oriented path is likely to attract new supervisory attention in my office.”
