Commissioner Peirce spoke to ETHDenver about the SEC’s cryptocurrency enforcement-only mode.

Peirce, a lawyer, has publicly defended cryptocurrencies since joining the SEC in 2018, despite skepticism from many of his colleagues, including current chairman Gary Gensler. Peirce began his remarks with a disclaimer: “These views are my own,” and he spoke openly about his frustration with regulators’ unwillingness to seemingly judge cryptocurrencies as an asset class.
