Craig Wright is not the founder of Bitcoin, judge rules

In a landmark ruling, a High Court judge in London declared that Craig Wright, the Australian ‘computer scientist’ who has long claimed to be the creator of Bitcoin, is not Satoshi Nakamoto. The decision follows a legal showdown with the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), which is seeking to prevent Wright from suing the Bitcoin developer and seeking a ruling that he is not Satoshi.

Judge James Mellor ruled Thursday that Wright was not the pseudonymous inventor who created the first and first cryptocurrency. The judge promised to give detailed reasons for his decision later.

The trial took place amid an ongoing legal battle between Wright and COPA, with Wright making settlement offers to the alliance and other involved parties. In his proposal, Wright offered to give up database rights and copyrights related to the Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Bitcoin ABC (ABC) databases. However, COPA rejected this proposal, emphasizing that it recognized Wright’s self-proclaimed identity as Satoshi Nakamoto.

Moreover, COPA presented new forensic evidence suggesting that the evidence he presented during the trial was fabricated to discredit Wright’s claims, including the discovery that Wright’s chat GPT was falsified. Despite Wright’s persistent claims, COPA remains steadfast in its opposition to recognizing him as Satoshi Nakamoto.

Last night COPA explained in more detail why Craig Wright can’t be Satoshi Nakamoto. “These points are in addition to numerous allegations focusing on ‘industrial-scale’ fraud and counterfeiting by Wright,” COPA said.
