IceRiver KS3M: Complete Setup Guide

What’s in the shipping box?

• Crypto Miner Bros. will send you your Iceriver KS3M safely packed in a box.

• The top and bottom of the machine are securely padded with thick pieces of foam to prevent damage during shipping.

• Unpacking it reveals a pretty hefty machine. The machine generates a lot of heat, so remove it carefully and place it in a well-ventilated area. Also, make sure you have access to a wired network in your area.
• Iceriver KS3M is available in two shapes: One is similar to a typical ASIC miner.

• The other one comes with a protective metal cover like this one.

Step-by-step guide to setting up the Iceriver KS3M

1. Prepare the device

• To power the Iceriver KS3M, you will need to purchase a C-20 to C-14 cable. Cables are not provided with the machine.
• A special power infrastructure is required for the Iceriver KS3M as the miner requires 240V as it will not work on typical 120V home voltage settings. Have a certified electrician build your power infrastructure.

• A 240V 30A power distribution unit (PDU) is required. Connect one end of the C-20-C-14 cable to the PDU and the other end to the power plug on the ASIC miner.

• ASIC does not support Wi-Fi, so now connect Iceriver to your router using a network cable (Ethernet cord).

2. Miner configuration

• The Ethernet light should come on when the power supply is turned on.

• Now that you have an internet connection, you will need a laptop or computer to get the IP address of your ASIC. To get your miner’s IP address, you can choose one of the following steps:
  • You can get the miner’s IP address using a free program software called Advance IP Scanner.
  • You can get the IP address by logging into your home router.

3. Access KS3M via web browser

• When you enter the IP address in your browser, a window will appear asking for your username and password.

• Log in to the browser using “admin” as the username and “12345678” as the password. This is the default username and password for your Iceriver model. However, different models from different companies may have different credentials. Please contact us at info@cryptominerbros.com for assistance.

• By logging in, you can access the web GUI of Iceriver KS3M.

4. Change mining settings

• Click the Mining Settings tab on the left side of the web GUI. You will see the page below.

• You can update the Pool name, Worker/Wallet name, and password.
• Now, if you are a beginner miner who is not sure which mining pool to mine in, you can visit Miningpoolstats and choose the Kaspa mining pool that suits you best.

• A general tip here is to choose a mining pool with a low network hash rate to remain decentralized.
• For illustration purposes, I will choose 2miners.com. When you access the website, you will see a ‘How to get started’ button at the top right.

• Click the “How to Get Started” button and you will see all of Kaspa’s mining pool options. You can choose the right mining pool for your location.

• Copy the IP address of the US location and paste it into Pool1 in the Iceriver web GUI.

• Now copy the IP addresses of the European locations to Pool 2 and the Asian locations to Pool 3. So if one of the pools goes down, one acts as a backup.
• The next step is to add your Kaspa wallet name to KS3M. You can select your desired Kaspa wallet and paste it into the wallet address. It must be entered in wallet address format. Worker’s name. The worker name can be whatever you want.

• The password can be whatever you want. When finished, press Save.

5. Caspian Sea mining begins

• After saving your mining settings, click the Home button.

• Sometimes you may need to restart your miner to check the mining status. You can check Iceriver mining with maximum hashrate.

• You can also check the fan speed and temperature of your Iceriver KS3M from the web GUI.

• We recommend that you reset your password. Just click on User Settings.

Ice River KS3M Profitability

The profitability of any mining hardware, including the Iceriver KS3M, is not easy to predict as it depends on a variety of factors. For example, factors such as the hash rate of the mining hardware, mining difficulty of the network, Kaspa price, electricity costs, mining trends, etc. affect profitability. Therefore, miners must pay close attention to all these factors before starting Kaspa or cryptocurrency mining.

Since cryptocurrencies have high price volatility, it is always recommended to check past price history and performance to better understand the profitability of a particular cryptocurrency.

Kaspa Mining Difficulties

All cryptocurrencies follow a mining algorithm that determines the mining difficulty. Kaspa follows the proof-of-work (PoW) algorithm KHeavyhash to regulate the mining difficulty of Kaspa miners within the network.

Like other PoW-based cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Zcash, Kaspa mining is energy-intensive. Miners must solve complex cryptographic problems to find new blocks and mine new Kaspa coins.

Moreover, as the popularity of cryptocurrencies increases, more miners will want to mine them, which will in turn increase the difficulty of mining. As mining difficulty increases, profits decrease. Therefore, miners must consider the competitiveness of the mining network’s mining algorithm before mining.

However, mining difficulty is not as bad as you might think. In fact, mining difficulty is important as it prevents hackers and cyber attackers from compromising your network. This decentralizes the mining network to properly regulate the creation of new blocks.
