Bithumb, SANTOS, PORTO, LAZIO tokens designated as investment warning assets
Bithumb announced new investment warning designations for SANTOS, PORTO, and LAZIO tokens due to low liquidity and manipulation risk.
As Korea’s leading digital asset platform, Bithumb has consistently prioritized investor protection through strict trading support policies and supervision of supported digital assets. Bithumb recently announced to users that it has decided to designate three soccer club tokens (SANTOS FC (SANTOS), FC PORTO (PORTO), and SS LAZIO (LAZIO)) as investment warning assets. This decision is in accordance with the ‘virtual asset investment warning designation policy’.
The main reason cited for this new designation is the low liquidity associated with these tokens, which could increase the risk of price manipulation and potentially harm investors. As a protective measure, these tokens are marked to warn investors to exercise caution when considering trading.
The detailed plan for investment warning designation is as follows.
- Designated date: April 5, 2024
- Suspension of new deposits: Scheduled at 12:30 on April 5, 2024
- Notification of extension, cancellation of designation, and termination of transaction support: Mid-April (4.15~4.19)
Please note that the above schedule may be subject to change due to internal circumstances. Additionally, if the reason for the investment warning designation is resolved within the designated period, the warning status for the asset may be lifted.
Bithumb’s efforts to create a sound and transparent trading environment remain unchanged. The platform ensures continuous and systematic supervision of supported virtual assets and maintains communication with external experts and foundations, providing investors with a safe trading space.
Investors are advised to stay informed of updates and proceed with caution when trading these designated assets. As Bithumb is taking the lead in creating a healthy and transparent trading ecosystem, we thank our users for their continued support and understanding.
