Trezor Academy is an educational program focused on spreading Bitcoin knowledge in Africa. The program consists of in-person gatherings led by local Bitcoin experts, providing a platform for individuals to learn about Bitcoin’s potential.
Trezor Academy is for anyone who feels disadvantaged by the current financial system. Over three consecutive weekly meetings, participants will learn:
- Why Bitcoin Matters
- Why Bitcoin is Best Understood as a Sound Money
- How to use Bitcoin for local microtransactions
- How to Use Bitcoin for Cross-Border Commerce
- How to keep your Bitcoin safe
- What are the best Bitcoin tools and educational resources?
Trezor Academy has worked in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Uganda, Burundi and Kenya. The Academy’s motto is “Spread Bitcoin knowledge where it matters most“. Our vision is to make this a regular program in these and more African countries from 2024 onwards.
In line with our commitment to spreading Bitcoin education, we are proud to sponsor ongoing Bitcoin education. African Bitcoin Conference, which runs in Ghana from December 1-3. The conference serves as a vibrant platform for thought leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts in the Bitcoin space.
Additionally, we are sponsors of: bitcoin kids, a creative initiative aimed at teaching children financial literacy and Bitcoin basics. This book will be included in the Trezor Academy curriculum to help educate the next generation about the importance of Bitcoin in a fun and engaging way.
💡 To celebrate our 10-year journey since pioneering the hardware wallet industry, we recently launched a limited edition Trezor Safe 3 exclusively for Bitcoin. It was created exclusively for Bitcoin. From each product sold in 2013, €21 was allocated to support the Trezor Academy, a portion of which went to Bitcoineta.
As part of our educational efforts, Bitcoineta West Africa is a Bitcoin-themed car dedicated to spreading Bitcoin awareness in the West African region, especially Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
