Phantom CEO defends Solana amid network issues

Phantom creator Andre Cronje cited the Solana network as a victim of its own success.

Phantom Network creator Andre Cronje expressed support for Solana Network following its recent failed deal. Cronje is considered one of the most influential thought leaders in decentralized finance (DeFi).

According to post At X by Cronje, some critics see continued congestion as Solana’s fault, but it stems from the ecosystem’s rapid growth, which has increased demand for block space. Cronje said the performance issue was a technical issue, not a flaw in the consensus mechanism.

Amid a recent surge in activity due to Solana’s memecoin craze, about 75% of non-voting transactions failed on April 4, according to Dune Analytics. But supporters argue the data is widely misunderstood.
