Central Bank of New Zealand begins consulting on CBDC digital cash

New Zealand’s CBDC is undergoing a multi-step, multi-year process and the country has not yet decided on issuance, the consultation document said. It is denominated in New Zealand dollars, can be exchanged 1:1 for physical cash, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
