Puffverse raises $3 million in funding to expand NFT-based gaming universe

Puffverse has raised $3 million in funding to further develop its unique 3D gaming universe. The funding round was led by: Animoca Brand We have seen contributions from several other notable investors, including: Sky Mavis, Arcane Group, Spartan Group, Foresight Ventures, HashKey Capital and Xu Family Office.

The new capital was allocated to two key initiatives: improving PuffGo, Puffverse’s popular party game, and building a pioneering cloud gaming platform. This new platform is designed to allow NFT projects to easily construct personalized metaverses by leveraging Puffverse’s engine without requiring coding expertise.

Additionally, Puffverse has entered into a strategic partnership with Sky Mavis to transition its entire portfolio to Ronin, a blockchain environment for gaming. The move aims to leverage Ronin’s capabilities to enhance the gaming experience with efficient transaction processing and strong community engagement features.

Puffverse boasts a variety of quirky characters, including Patty the Dinosaur and Claude the Cloud, that players can collect as NFTs. These characters are an integral part of the Puffverse ecosystem, providing players with a rich and immersive gaming experience across play, monetization, and life simulation activities.

Ronin’s company’s flagship title, PuffGo, is a multiplayer royale party game that combines skill-based play with acquisition opportunities. It also features user generated content (UGC), allowing players to create custom game maps.

The upcoming introduction of Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) will give users even more power to design games and metaverses through simple text commands.

Echoing this sentiment, Trung Nguyen, CEO and co-founder of Sky Mavis, pointed out the suitability of party games for web3 integration and noted the significant market potential in East Asia and China.

This investment will also support the development of other Puffverse products, such as PuffTown, PuffLand, and PuffWorld, which are designed to simplify the creation of games and metaverse content for users.

On April 29, Puffverse will take a snapshot of all Puff NFTs on the BNB chain, paving the way for the exclusive collection of NFTs and ecosystem tokens to migrate to the upcoming Ronin.
