Q1: What is the difference between GOLD Edge and GOLD Edge PRO?

all:

GOLD Edge PRO features include:

  1. News Filter:
PRO version includes news filters. It is recommended to pause trading during important news announcements as unexpected price movements may occur. News filters help you manage this effectively.
  2. Daily Profit Stop:
You can set daily profit goals. Once the target amount is reached, trading for the day will stop. This feature is useful when you want to achieve the minimum required profit while reducing risk. For example, entering “10” will stop the trade when a profit of $10 is reached (units are expressed in your account currency).
  3. Diffusion Filter:
Trading may be halted if the spread exceeds the set value. This helps prevent losses when spreads are large.
  4. Non-trading days:
You can designate a specific day as a non-trading day. This allows you to avoid trading on high-risk days, such as the end or beginning of the month. Additionally, if there are any open trades remaining on a designated non-trading day, you can choose to liquidate all of those trades.
  5. Auto-set distance:
In GOLD Edge, the “Distance” parameter sets the grid spacing. Different currency pairs may require different “distance” values. GOLD Edge PRO automatically calculates grid spacing, making it suitable for a variety of currency pairs.
  6. Trading hours (optional extra):
GOLD Edge allows you to set trading hours. In the PRO version, exceeding a specified trading time may result in the closing of all trades open at that time.
  7. Trading days (optional additional):
GOLD Edge allows you to specify specific weekdays for trading. In the PRO version, if it is a designated non-trading day, all open trades at that time may be closed.
  8. Use candle filter (turn filter on/off):
You can disable the candlestick filter. At GOLD Edge, when trading on the grid, trading decisions are determined by candlestick filters for the direction of recovery as well as “distance” intervals. In the PRO version you can disable this filter (it is enabled by default). If disabled, grid trading will occur unconditionally once the set distance is reached.
  9. Using the panel (turning the panel on/off):
You can switch the display/hide settings of the panel. The panel also has a manual button to change settings. You can use these buttons to show or hide the panel as needed.

Q2: My EA was working fine in the past, but for the past few days no transactions have been executed. why?

all:

“RSI Filter” for D1 and H1 periods is set to “true” by default.
If RSI exceeds this range and is greater than the “maximum” value, a buy trade will not be executed.
Conversely, if RSI falls below the “minimum” value, the sell transaction will not be executed.
For example, if “RSI” exceeds the “Max” threshold during an uptrend, the trade will not be initiated even if the trend is up.
Please note that setting “RSI Filter” to False or increasing the range between “Min” and “Max” will increase the number of trades but also increase the risk.
Keep in mind that if RSI crosses its limits, an unexpected and sharp reversal in the trend may occur.

Q3: No transactions or only one-sided transactions: Why?

all:

Although the following situation may persist for several days, the Expert Advisor (EA) is functioning properly.

No-trade scenario:

If the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is above 60 (indicating an uptrend), the EA will refrain from executing the trade.

Likewise, if RSI is below 40 (indicating a downtrend), the EA will also avoid trading.

However, if your EA is not trading at all, please make sure the status is set to “Running”. If the status is not “Running”, there may be a configuration issue.

Unilateral transaction scenario:

The EA will not initiate a buy trade if the daily (D1) trend is downtrend or RSI is above 60.

Conversely, if the D1 trend is uptrend or RSI is below 40, the EA will skip the sell trade.

Q4: How should I adjust the settings if I have 3 decimal places?

all

For this EA, the base price display for XAUUSD is based on 2 decimal places (e.g. “2804.31”). However, if your price display has 3 decimal places (e.g. ‘2804.317’), you will need to increase the value from 250 to 2500 (e.g. add one digit) and adjust the following settings:

  • Take Profit (Points): Default = 250 → 2500
  • Take Profit (DD Reduction/Points): Default = 250 → 2500
  • Slippage (points): default = 20 → 200
  • Maximum spread (points): default = 50 → 500
  • TrailStart pips (points): default = 100 → 1000
  • TrailStop pips (points): default = 30 → 300
  • TrailStart pips (DD reduction/points): default = 60 → 600
  • TrailStop pips (DD reduction/points): Default = 30 → 300
  • Distance (points): Default = 300 → 3000″

Q5: How do I resolve the following error message?
“Error: TrailStop parameter is too small”, “Error: DD TrailStop parameter is too small.”

all:

If you receive this error, it means that the “TrailStop” parameter is set too low. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Consult your broker to determine an appropriate value for “StopLevel”. This value must be greater than the minimum value indicated by “MIN”.
  2. Adjust the “TrailStop” parameter to a value slightly greater than the MIN setting.

Set the following parameters appropriately:

  • TrailStop pips (points)
  • TrailStop pips (DD reduction/points)

Q6: (GRID) Why does changing the lot multiplier to ‘1.3’ seem to have no effect? The lot size for all GRIDs is kept at 0.01. why?

all:

If your initial lot size is 0.01, it will not change after applying a multiplier of 1.3. The result of 0.01×1.3 is 0.013,
Rounded down to 0.01 due to minimum lot size constraints.

Q7: Can I use “GOLD” Edge with a real account?

all:

Yes, GOLD Edge can be used with a real account. There are no trading restrictions.

Q8: What methods can I use to reduce the risk?

all:

Below we have provided some tips to reduce your risk. Items 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are only available in PRO version. Keep in mind that reducing risk may result in fewer trades, which may reduce your profits. With this understanding, let’s look at the following strategies:

  1. RSI Settings: Use RSI Filter

    • Set the Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily (D1) chart to MAX 50 and MIN 50.
    • Reduce risk by adjusting RSI values for hourly (H1) and current period by increasing the minimum (Min) and decreasing the maximum (Max).
  2. Trading during a specific time: trading hours

    • The risk is higher at certain times, such as New York trading hours.
    • Structure your trading schedule to avoid these risky periods.
  3. trading days

    • Weekend trading can be riskier. We recommend disabling trading on certain days, such as the first Friday of each month.
  4. News Filter: News Settings (PRO only)

    • Key economic indicators can cause significant price fluctuations, increasing risk.
    • To mitigate risk, adjust the timing of your press releases.
  5. Non-Trade Day: Set Non-Trade_Day (PRO only)

    • Risks tend to be higher towards the end or beginning of the month.
    • Designate non-trading days (dates you know in advance) to reduce risk.
  6. Close open positions based on time and day settings (PRO only)

    • When applying filters related to news, weekdays, or specific dates or times, consider temporarily closing open positions.
    • Although this may result in short-term losses, it can help protect against subsequent risk due to market fluctuations.
  7. Diffusion Filter (PRO only)

    • Avoid trading during periods when the spread (difference between bid and ask price) is high.
    • High spreads often coincide with unusual price movements.
  8. Stop daily profits (PRO only)

    • Use the “Daily Profit Stop” feature to limit your trading once a certain profit level is reached.
    • This upcoming feature (expected in version 4.0) will allow you to limit risky transactions.
  9. Minimum margin setting

    • Set the minimum free margin to approximately 50%.
    • This can prevent excessive losses even if a loss occurs.
  10. Lot multiplier for large deposits

    • Instead of increasing the initial lot size for larger deposits, consider using a higher “lot multiplier.”
    • This approach accelerates loss recovery and reduces risk.

Don’t forget to tailor these strategies to your specific trading style and risk tolerance.

Question 9: Is there a set file? / I want to know the parameters.

all:

You can download the set file from the guide provided in the link below. The guide also includes descriptions of the parameters. Please note that you can only use set files mentioned in the guide. We do not customize individual settings for our customers.

Q10: No stop loss set? / Stop Loss is possible, but why is it stated as “not recommended”?

all:

Because this EA (Expert Advisor) operates on a grid trading system. Grid trading means buying and selling at regular intervals based on market fluctuations. The system initiates an exit when the most recent and older transactions are combined to produce an overall profit. With this strategy, it is possible to generate profits regardless of the direction of the market. Therefore, Stop Loss is not set. Stop Loss is a means of limiting losses, but it is not always necessary in grid trading as profits are derived by taking advantage of market movements. However, if the market moves significantly in one direction, there is a risk of temporary increased losses. It is important to understand these risks and structure your deposit and initial lot settings accordingly.

Q11: If a trade moves negatively and no stop loss is set, should I close it manually?

all:

For this EA using grid trading, please do not close the trade manually. Eventually, this will either turn positive and automatically close, or continue grid trading until the full profit is achieved, triggering an automatic close. This EA is designed for automatic liquidation, so please do not liquidate trades manually without a specific reason..
