Lightning Network – How to avoid forced channel closures in the future

It appears that an HTLC relay error leading to node downtime was the cause, but it is difficult to say what specifics about the node configuration and channels might have been vulnerable to this situation.

Maybe so, maybe not.

Unfortunately, forced quits occur for many reasons. Either it is a bug in the software or an interoperability issue between the two implementations.

Another reason is the surge in fees. I know that if the fees don’t match, ldk closes the channel and core lightning just disables the channel.

Now the question is, is force quit always necessary? No, I don’t think we are mature enough at the protocol level to identify and try to fix cases that can be recovered without going through the chain.

But we are currently working on it. warning Your message needs more meaning, but there are ways to do it.
