Pudgy Penguins Announces Selling 1 Million Plush Toys in Less Than One Year

Posted 1 minute ago In ~

Pudgy Penguins, one of the top 10 NFT collections by transaction volume, announced in a video posted on X that the company has sold more than 1 million plush toys through various retailers.

In the video, Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins, a 10th grade dropout who took over the project the year after its launch, details the latest progress in sales of Pudgy Penguins plush toys, saying, “More than a million have been sold.” “It’s been less than a year.” Netz also teases future partnerships with other retailers, including a repeat order from Walmart and orders from Target, Smiths, Hot Topic and “specialty retailers in Asia and around the world.”

“On a unit basis, this is the biggest success in my consumer product history,” Netz said.

Netz highlighted the success of his project compared to others in the NFT space who are still struggling with public interest in their projects. “I have a lot of respect for what other people are doing in space, but a lot of it depends on that future moment,” Netz said. “This is happening in real time. That little guy was able to deliver this to the largest retail store in the world.”

Enthusiasm for Pudgy Penguins’ plush line and the announcement of metaverse developments led the project to briefly overtake Bored Ape Yacht Club in rock bottom pricing earlier this year. The project plans to launch the Pudgy World alpha on the zkSync Era blockchain this year.
