Neel Somani, founder of Ethereum layer 2 blockchain Eclipse, has stepped down from his position as CEO amid sexual harassment allegations.

Operating update on behalf of Eclipse Labs: “Immediately, Vijay Chetty has been appointed CEO of Eclipse Labs, replacing the departing Neel Somani. Chetty has been promoted to Chief Growth Officer and will assume all responsibilities of the CEO.

Somani said on May 9 that he had “temporarily scaled back” his role as the company’s “public face” following “serious allegations of sexual misconduct” made against him, which he denied.
“I have never sexually assaulted or harassed any woman,” Somani said. “I will work to clear my name and defend myself.”
