How to Recover Blockchain.info Wallet from 12 Word Password and Password

Blockchain.info has two types of 12-word mnemonics:

They use different sets of words and have different meanings depending on when they were created.

The pre-2015/2016 12-word seed contained the password for login and was combined from a list of over 50,000 words. It was called the Legacy Mnemonic.

Since 2015/2016, the 12 word lists have been combined from 2048 word lists and can be used to restore public and private keys. This mnemonic is called HD.

The blockchain uses separate links to check validity depending on whether you have legacy or HD.

If you enter a list into HD Link and it says the words aren’t recognized, it’s likely legacy.

If you only get a checksum error, it’s likely that one of the words was misspelled, misspelled, misspelled, or missing. In this case, calculating the correct word is possible, but it is not an out-of-the-box solution.
