This is why Web3 people always talk about the importance of digital property rights. Without property rights to the Internet, users are tied to the Web2 platforms that hoard them. Once everything they’ve created and achieved, even the community they belong to, becomes owned by the platform, it’s not as simple as just picking up, moving on, and starting anew. In fact, the more value creators create in Roblox, the harder it will be for them to leave Roblox. This is a heartbreaking example of the injustice of online centralization and the need for a fairer internet that gives everyone the right to take their shit and leave if they want.
