Industry Leader Chooses NVIDIA Isaac for AI-Based Robotics Development

According to NVIDIA news, leading companies in robotics, including BYD Electronics, Siemens, Teradyne Robotics, and Intrinsic, have adopted NVIDIA’s Isaac robotics platform for developing AI-based autonomous machines.

Adopts the NVIDIA Isaac Robotics platform

NVIDIA announced that its Isaac robotics platform is being integrated by more than a dozen global robotics industry leaders. These companies leverage NVIDIA Isaac’s accelerated libraries, physics-based simulations, and AI models to improve operational efficiency and safety across factories, warehouses, and distribution centers. The platform aims to enable intelligent support for repetitive or highly precise tasks.

“The era of robotics has arrived,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Everything that moves will one day be autonomous.” Huang also mentioned advancements in the NVIDIA robotics stack, which includes Omniverse for simulation applications, the Project GR00T humanoid-based model, and the Jetson Thor robotic computer.

Key Features of NVIDIA Isaac

The Isaac platform consists of multiple NVIDIA acceleration libraries, AI-based models, and simulation technologies that can be easily integrated.

  • NVIDIA Isaac ROS — A modular ROS 2 package that provides NVIDIA acceleration and AI models to ROS community developers.
  • NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor — Provides multi-camera, 3D surround vision capabilities for AI-powered autonomous mobile robots.
  • NVIDIA Isaac Manipulator — Simplifies the development of AI-enabled robotic arms that can perceive, understand, and interact with their surroundings.
  • NVIDIA Isaac Sim — Simulate, test, and validate robots in physically-based environments and generate synthetic data using the NVIDIA Omniverse platform.
  • NVIDIA Isaac Lab — Optimized for reinforcement, imitation, and transfer learning for training basic AI robot models.

Global adoption and application

Industry leaders in Asia, Europe, and North America are early adopters of NVIDIA Isaac. Siemens, a global leader in industrial automation software and systems, leverages NVIDIA Isaac Sim for software-in-the-loop (SIL) capabilities. This allows Siemens to accelerate the development and testing of robotics technologies such as SIMATIC Robot PickAI (PRO) and SIMATIC Robot Pack AI.

Alphabet subsidiary Intrinsic has successfully tested the Isaac Manipulator on a robot-agnostic software platform, demonstrating the potential of scalable robotic grasping technology. BYD Electronics, a BYD Group subsidiary, is developing autonomous mobile robots using NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Perceptor to enhance worker safety, reduce production costs, and improve production intelligence.

Teradyne Robotics companies Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) are integrating NVIDIA Isaac into their automation solutions. UR is integrating the Isaac Manipulator into its PolyScope X software platform, and MiR is leveraging Isaac Sim to generate synthetic data for real-world deployment.

Isaac Ecosystem Expansion

The NVIDIA Isaac platform is designed to be modular, allowing companies to adopt individual or multiple technologies. Companies such as ArcBest, Gideon, Idealworks, and RGo Robotics are leveraging Isaac Perceptor to develop autonomous mobile robots. Meanwhile, Solomon, Techman Robot, Vention, and Yaskawa are using the Isaac Manipulator to produce AI-based robot arms.

More than 100 companies choose Isaac Sim for simulation, testing, and validation of robotics applications. These include notable names such as Hexagon, Husqvarna Group, and MathWorks. Isaac Lab is also being adopted by companies such as Agility, Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, Fourier Intelligence, and Sanctuary AI.

COMPUTEX’s robotics innovations

In his COMPUTEX keynote, Jensen Huang demonstrated robots used in a variety of fields, including transportation, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing. Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics manufacturer, debuted a fully simulated autonomous factory in NVIDIA Omniverse featuring AI robots developed by NVIDIA partners.
