#TeamStaking program launched with Dappnode
Now it’s time for us to do our part. We’re starting from the inside. #TeamStaking We are working with our long-time friends at Dappnode to run the program. Our goal is to make running a node easy and fun, so that all Aragon contributors can stake from home!
We will leverage DVT and work with Obol and Diva to provide our team with the support and training they need to succeed.
We want organizations across web3 to join us in decentralizing Ethereum and building the infrastructure needed to build protocols and products.
Why Aragon is #TeamStaking
Helps secure the future of DAO. DAOs rely on the decentralization of the underlying network. Without an unstoppable network, the DAO itself cannot be stopped. Decentralization ensures that the network is resistant to censorship and capture. If there is even a single chink in the armor, it will eventually be exploited.
Decentralize Aragon’s infrastructure. Having an entire team running their own nodes frees up the capacity to run specific parts of their own infrastructure, such as running a backend or using a long-latency service to decouple voting operations from timestamps to protect voter privacy.
Learn and enjoy. The best way to learn how the Ethereum infrastructure works is to get involved. Team staking is also a great opportunity for team building. Running a cluster is one way we can work together to achieve a common goal!
“Staking isn’t just about maximizing your returns. Your returns are part of the reward for providing value to the network. Ethereum has put a lot of effort into designing a system that can be highly resistant to interference, unlike other blockchains, but it’s up to us to leverage this potential to make Ethereum a censorship-proof and unstoppable network.”

#HowTeamStaking Works and How to Replicate It in Your Organization
We hope that the organizations in web3 will follow suit and work with us to make Ethereum more resilient. Here’s how the program works:
- Reduce the cost of Dappnode for contributors by purchasing in bulk and subsidizing part of the cost. Contributors can then reimburse the cost over time if needed.
- We offer educational workshops and 1:1 support for stakers, alongside providers like Obol and Diva.
- Using DVT technology for #TeamStaking makes it accessible to everyone. It also protects contributors from single node failures or malicious behavior. With Obol, you can create clusters and reduce the required bonds. Or, you can remove bonds altogether and run validators via Lido or Ether.fi, expanding and diversifying the operator set. Soon, Diva will be launched on mainnet and this self-bond will be reduced to 1 ETH.
“Home staking is at the core of decentralization on Ethereum, and we are focused on enabling it through DVT. We are excited to support this initiative with Aragon and hope to be the first of many to join Team Staking.”
– Brett LeeChief Growth Officer at Obol
#TeamStaking supported by Dappnode, Diva and Obol
Dappnode makes it easy and accessible for anyone to run a node from home. Encouraging our team to stake from home not only adds nodes, but also increases the global distribution of the network. The more individual nodes running globally, the more resilient the blockchain becomes.
Distributed Verification Technology (DVT) enables team staking. This makes running a validator easier and less risky, since the responsibility is distributed across multiple computers rather than just one. In our case, we form a group of Aragon team members and join forces to run a validator together. With tools like Obol and Diva, you don’t need 32 ETH to run a validator. You can pool your ETH with others.
Obol’s Charon is a DVT middleware that allows more than one Ethereum validator to run on a node cluster. Using a splitter smart contract, node operators can split the initial 32ETH requirement and the staking rewards earned. Protocols such as Lido and Ether.fi are integrating Obol DVT to expand and diversify the operator set.
Diva is a liquid staking protocol that uses distributed verification technology. It is highly resilient and trust-minimized because keys are not held by one person but are distributed among computers. We are currently testing the Diva protocol on the testnet and preparing the team to participate in the mainnet launch.
In addition to running our own validators, we will also choose a minority consensus and execution client. Client diversity is important because running execution and consensus clients without a majority stake can help mitigate serious risks to the network, such as the consensus layer not being able to finalize, or forking and finalization being incorrect.
“We are very excited to be part of Aragon’s #TeamStaking initiative and have the opportunity to support something that we truly believe is core to Ethereum itself and is completely aligned with the fundamental values of Diva Staking. We encourage more teams to follow suit and join the movement to further decentralize every DAO, every team, and every community.
