January 2025 Work Progress Report: Change BTC Payment for Bitcoin Gold Mining

Bitcoin GOLD (BTG) Mining Bitcoin (BTC) payment disorder

Previously, the miner had an option to receive Bitcoin (BTC) payment while mining BTG (Bitcoin Gold) through Gate.io Exchange. However, Gate.io will stop BTG deposits in the future, so it no longer support BTC payments for BTG mining.

Immediately, all BTG mining payments are made only in BTG.

This means to miners:

• The new BTG mining payment is only handled by BTG.
• If you complete the deposit transaction required by Exchange, the recent BTC payments are still handled.

We understand that this change can be inconvenient, and thank you for your understanding when you adapt to the evolving exchange policy.

Node update

Zcash (ZEC) V6.1.0

The latest ZCASH update version 6.1.0 is a maintenance release designed to ensure smooth operation of the network. This update sets a new service end height to ensure continuous network functions without interruption. All ZCASH miners are recommended to update this version to maintain unstoppable mining.

Zephyr protocol v2.0.2 -ZSD yield (Hotfix)

The Zephyr protocol targeted version 2.0.2 for emergency hotfix releases, especially mining pools. This is the necessary update and the mining pool must be upgraded immediately with this version.

It is recommended to stop deposits and withdrawals for the time being. The larger chain audit update is expected soon, so ordinary desktop users do not need to update.

Hardfork V7 Activation:

• Activated in Block 433000.
• It includes important security updates to solve the problems found before the entire audit update.
• After the transition to the V7 is completed, the details of the hotfix are released.

To immediately update network stability, we strongly recommend all mining pools running Zephyr.

Block reduced compensation

In January 2025, there was a decrease in block compensation for various cryptocurrencies according to the release schedule. The updated rewards are as follows:

Kaspa (what)

• Previous block rewards: 73.41 Who
• New block reward: 69.29 Who

Ergo (ERG)

• Previous block rewards: 21 ERG
• New block reward: 18 ERG

Carlson (KLS)

• Previous block rewards: 35.15 kls
• New block reward: 34.19 kls
