Holešky Testnet Shutdown presentation | Ether Leeum Foundation Blog

like Previously announcedHolešky Testnet has reached the planned end of life and will soon be sunset. Most of the remaining validation tester nodes end two weeks after the Fusaka upgrade is finished at Holešky. After that, Holešky is no longer supported by clients, tests or infrastructure teams.

After launch HODI testnet In March 2025, infrastructure providers and staying operators had the opportunity to migrate test operations.

background

Holešky was launched in 2023 as the largest public Testnet in Ether Lee, and was specially designed to test the scaling infrastructure and effective inspector operation in size. The network achieves its purpose, Dencun network upgrade And most recently PECTRA.

However, following the activation of PECTRA Testnet in early 2025, Holešky experienced a wide range of non -activity leaks, causing a big outlet queue. While the network was restored and finished, the long validation exit process was unrealistic in testing the entire validity test period of life within a reasonable period. As a result, Hoodi was created and released in March 2025, providing a new test environment without these constraints.

Migration

Staying operators and infrastructure providers must migrate hoodIt was especially started to solve the limits of Holešky. Hoodi provides a new validation test, supports all PECTRA functions, and activates future protocol upgrades, including upcoming fusaka forks.

Application and tooling developer Anyone who used Holešky must use it. Sepolia Instead, it remains a testnet recommended for smart contracts and DAPP tests.

Current testnet environment

Following Holešky’s sunset, Ethereum’s testnet ecosystem will be configured:

  • Sepolia: Application and tooling development
  • hood: Test of validation and staying providers
  • temporary: Lightweight validation using reset every 28 days

I look forward to

Holešky provided valuable insights in the operation of large -scale validation testors and helped the stress test important protocol upgrade. These learning provided information directly to Hoodi’s design and extensive protocol test practices.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to running, maintaining and testing on Holešky over the past few years!
