Shaily Engineering, Adani Energy and other stocks recently included in ST-ASM framework

Overview: Several Indian stocks including Adani Energy Solutions, Shaily Engineering Plastics, Delta Corp, etc. were recently included in the SEBI Short-Term Additional Monitoring Measures (ST-ASM) framework following a review that identified unusual price movements, high trading volumes and other reasons.
Short-Term Additional Monitoring Measures (ST-ASM) This is a regulatory mechanism introduced by SEBI and the Stock Exchanges of India to closely monitor stocks showing unusual or sudden trading activity. The main goal is to protect investors and maintain market stability by imposing temporary, more stringent trading restrictions on highly volatile or speculative stocks.

Inclusion and exclusion criteria for ST-ASM
Stocks are subject to Short-Term Additional Monitoring Measures (ST-ASM) based on sudden abnormal price movements, rapid changes in trading volume, high customer concentration, limited trader diversity and short-term volatility (typically 5 to 15 trading days or more). These factors help exchanges identify stocks with unusual or speculative trading activity for closer and more ad hoc monitoring.
If your inventory no longer meets the inclusion criteria, it may be removed from ST-ASM. After completing a minimum period (5-15 trading days), stocks are reviewed in stages. You can either move to a lower tier or, if you’re in tier I, quit entirely. Continuous monitoring ensures that only stocks with recent unusual trading patterns remain in ST-ASM. Below is a list of stocks recently included in the ST-ASM framework.
