Electrum Personal Server installation issues with Sparrow and Bitcoin Core
Switching to the Electrum wallet is a good option. However, the Electrum personal server certificate is out of date since March, so you must change the certificate. Create a new certificate as follows:
cd EPS/electrumpersonalserver/certs/
rm cert.*
$ openssl genrsa -des3 -passout pass:x -out server.pass.key 2048
$ openssl rsa -passin pass:x -in server.pass.key -out server.key
Write RSA key
$ rm server.pass.key
$ openssl req -new -key server.key -out server.csr
...
Country Name (2 letter code) (AU):US
State or Province Name (full name) (Some-State):California
Common Name (eg, YOUR name) (): electrum-server.tld
...
A challenge password ():
...
$ openssl x509 -req -days 1825 -in server.csr -signkey server.key -out server.crt
You are now in the EPS directory.
nano config.ini
that much server.crt
The file is a suitable certificate for: ssl_certfile=
The parameters and server.key correspond to: ssl_keyfile=
In Electrum server configuration. Make sure the path to that file is set correctly. Then restart EPS and it should connect properly.
