A plane that encountered severe turbulence has returned to Singapore, local media reported.
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – A Singapore Airlines (OTC:) (SIA) aircraft used on a flight in which a passenger died amid severe turbulence returned to Singapore on Sunday, five days after it made an emergency landing in Bangkok, Channel News Asia (CNA) reports. It is done.
A 73-year-old British man died of a suspected heart attack and dozens more were injured on Tuesday after Flight SQ321, flying from London to Singapore, encountered sudden and extreme turbulence while flying over Myanmar.
The plane carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members made an emergency landing in Bangkok. At least 43 of the passengers remain hospitalized in Bangkok, a hospital in the Thai capital said Saturday.
Flight tracking service Flightradar24 showed the aircraft, operated as SQ9071, departed Bangkok at 3.49am GMT on Sunday and arrived in Singapore at 5.39am GMT.
“SIA has obtained the necessary approvals from relevant authorities, inspectors and aircraft manufacturers in Singapore and Thailand, and the aircraft has been cleared by the engineering and flight operations teams prior to departure,” Singapore Airlines told CNA.
