This month we have the latest news from two groups doing great work to grow the Ethereum ecosystem!

cougar For education and community building in Japan

Couger, who specializes in AI, may not be the champion of Ethereum education! But Couger is not only that. We explored the intersection of Ethereum and AI. and We tested a zero-knowledge voting protocol. – They also became passionate educators and collaborators in their native Japan. Couger received sponsorship in 2020 for the ETHTerakoya meeting and a series of workshops and working groups. Couger recently received a second grant to continue and expand previous work, including:

  • The “ID x Voting x Blockchain” working group brings together business, technology and legal experts to work on open standards and proofs of concept. Japanese and english
  • Public Workshop Presenting Results of IDxVoting Working Group Meeting: Notes Japanese and english And a full video of the presentation ( chapter 1 and Part 2)
  • eth2 working group convened in November 2020: Notes Japanese and english
  • Planned community-building initiatives targeting students, businesses and general public awareness

metacartel For post-hackathon support

MetaCartel DAO is a community of builders working to accelerate the growth of the Ethereum ecosystem, especially at the application layer. In 2020, MetaCartel placed a special focus on helping hackathon participants continue to develop software and Dapps even after the hackathon ends. The ESP grant was awarded in the form of contributions to the MetaCartel DAO, which will be specifically allocated to post-hackathon support. Projects featured in ETHOnline virtual hackathon.

In addition to providing mentorship as the team improves its product and builds a sustainable business model, MetaCartel DAO has provided small grants to the ETHOnline project, including:

  • MindfulnessPlatform that automates portfolio rebalancing and dollar-cost averaging
  • sheatheA derivative protocol that uses on-chain oracles to enable transactions on data streams.
