Bitcoin Core – Outdated wallet, transaction halted
I have an old wallet from about 10 years ago that I found on Bitcoin Core. I tried sending the balance to another wallet I use, but the transaction was shown as pending. I’m looking for help on what to do.
Here’s what happened:
- Upgraded to the latest Bitcoin Core v27, allowing blockchains to be fully synchronized.
- I created a tx to send BTC from my old wallet to my new wallet (recommended fees apply).
- I went to seek help on how to increase the fee as my Tx had not been confirmed for several days.
- Failed to use “Increase Fees” option in Core. So I tried what I found in the thread using -walletbroadcast=0.
- I was able to successfully relinquish tx from my core/existing wallet
- I created a new transaction with 2x the fee to see if it helped, but the tx is still showing as pending (Core is in memory pool but not confirmed).
- mempool.space shows the old wallet address balance as 0, but the original tx still shows as pending in the new wallet.
I’m looking for some ideas/help on what to do to transfer my BTC to a new wallet.
