BlackRock launches tokenized investment fund through Securitize

Posted 1 minute ago In ~

BlackRock is deepening the firm’s foray into digital assets with the launch of a tokenized private equity fund with financial services firm Securitize.

Last Thursday, the world’s largest asset manager filed a Form D, or Notice of Exempt Securities Offering, with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with its USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund. According to the filing, the co-investment fund requires outside investors to invest at least $100,000.

The notice sets the fund’s estimated sales commission at $525,000, with no broker commissions reported. The notice does not specify a launch date for the asset manager’s latest product. Securitize Markets, a regulation-friendly digital asset platform based in Miami, has gone public with a sale.

Since being approved by regulators in January, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) has reached $15.5 billion in assets under management, making it the second-largest spot Bitcoin ETF, according to data compiled by The Block. The company manages over $9 trillion in assets.

Neither BlackRock nor Securitize was immediately available for comment.
