Block Interval – Questions about Bitcoin transaction issuance time

On page 26 of the 3rd edition of the book “mastering bitcoin”, there is the following explanation:
“About five minutes after the transaction is first sent from Alice’s wallet, a miner finds a solution to the block and notifies the network.”

My question is why “5 minutes”?
