Build on Aragon OSx for your chance to win.

We look forward to meeting you at EthGlobal Paris! Check out our talks and bounties for inspiration on building an unstoppable organization on blockchain.

Aragon OSx: Meet Unix on Ethereum

Friday, July 21: Workshop Room 2, 2 p.m.

Jordi, a senior developer on the OSx team, will be speaking at EthGlobal Paris. He will share how the design of Aragon OSx is modular and adaptable, likening it to Unix on Ethereum. Especially if you’re thinking about building a stack, you won’t want to miss this talk, so be sure to save this event information!

Bounties: Build your chance to win $2,500 per bounty.

we are Two bounties live At Eth Global Paris, they are each worth $2,500. Now get ready to code!

If you need help, join the EthGlobal Discord server and find the Aragon channel. We can’t wait to see what you create!

explanation: Like many other projects in the ecosystem, Aragon emerged from the need to solve the world’s biggest problems. Corruption, climate change, terrorism, etc. are threats that the world must address together. But working together often requires trust between strangers and can lead to centralization of power.

To solve this problem, Aragon OSx is a DAO framework that allows the community to manage assets in a decentralized and trustless manner. The modular architecture allows organizations to easily install and remove plugins to the DAO, increasing transparency within the community.

Through this award, we want to see teams use cryptocurrency to solve pressing problems within their communities.—This could be oversight of assets or public goods (like parks or schools), incentives for specific collective actions (using tokens for rewards and voting rights), management of assets for specific missions, or other ideas. That reminds me! Whether you decide to build your own plugin, dApp, or custom DAO, we’re looking for fun, creative projects that want to leverage the power of on-chain governance to solve problems for local communities and make the world a better place.

Requirements

  • It must be a solution to a local problem or need (no matter where the area is). Examples: park maintenance, neighborhood elections, college clubs, etc.
  • Submissions can be dApps, Aragon OSx plugins, or other prototypes.
  • Submissions must utilize Aragon in some way (app, OSx, CLI, SDK).
  • You must submit a project description, a presentation including demos, a Github repository with a README on how to run the project, and a working prototype.
  • Bonus points for creativity and innovation!

Judging criteria

  • Having innovative solutions to local problems
  • Understanding and Using Aragon OSx
  • Meet your requirements
  • Bonus points for user-friendly UX and good documentation.

Bounty 2: Building a plugin to help DAOs raise funds

explanation: During the last bull market, DAOs proved to be a great mechanism for raising funds. For example, projects like ConstitutionDAO have been able to show the world how cryptocurrency funding can lead to “real-world” action and impact.

Some examples of characteristics that make this possible include:

  • DAO tokens have been added to the liquidity pool. This allows DAO tokens to be instantly exchanged for other assets, giving them liquidity and value.
  • We combine the curves in a way that ossifies the relationship between token price and supply.
  • The Rage Quit feature means that individuals can leave the DAO and take a representative share of the treasury’s value based on the number of DAO tokens they own.
  • Other non-technical characteristics such as good marketing, relatable mission, good roadmap, trustworthy team, etc.

With this bounty, we’d like to see an Aragon OSx plugin that allows DAOs to easily raise funds by facilitating the practices mentioned above or creating their own strategies. All ideas are valid.

Requirements

You must submit…

  • Enable Aragon DAO for funding.
  • Take advantage of Aragon OSx
  • At a minimum, it must be deployed on the testnet chain.
  • Include demos and documentation on how to get your project up and running locally.

Judging criteria

  • Efficiency of solutions for raising funds for DAOs.
  • Understanding and Using Aragon OSx
  • Meeting your requirements.
  • Bonus points for the user-friendly UX and great documentation.
