If approved, the moratorium means Kalshi won’t be able to list its election marketplace until late September at the earliest. The company, which settles transactions in U.S. dollars, has been left out of this year’s election betting boom led by cryptocurrency-based rival Polymarket, which is banned from offering its services to U.S. residents under its own agreement with the CFTC.
