Cube Punk 2077 meets Big Hero 6
What animated movies cause trauma? Sounds light and fun, right? I was in my 20s when Big Hero 6 came out, and the moment Tadashi died still haunts me. I want to introduce Baymax to my daughter, but that scene is <라이온 킹>It’s worse than Mufasa dying in .
This preface to my animation-induced trauma is really just a way to introduce the world-building they created in Big Hero 6. San Fransokyo was beautiful, and it’s a shame we can’t come back… or was it? I’m not saying the city featured in Push Gaming’s Samurai’s Katana slot is inspired by San Fransokyo, but it certainly feels the same.
welcome back
Samurai’s Katana slot features two different wilds. The standard wild symbol replaces other symbols to complete winning combinations. Then there are stacked wilds, which look like four symbols stacked high. Stacked wilds only appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 in the base game. During the free spins round, stacked wilds can appear anywhere on the reels.

Instant Win Prizes will be represented by a denominated bronze, silver or gold coin. This symbol pays when two wild symbols are combined with one of these symbols to complete a payline that moves from left to right or right to left. Naturally, the gold instant win coin symbol features the most profitable denomination.
The free spins feature of the slot is triggered with standard scatter symbols or gambling scatter symbols. If you run into the latter, you will be given the choice to collect spins or gamble. Collecting them will give you a base number of free spins. If you gamble, you run the risk of losing your free spins.
When the free spins round begins, stacked wilds are placed on reels 2 and 4. The multiplier meter that appears to the left of the reels is set based on the free spins prize awarded. Each turn, the accumulated wilds move down one space. All completed winning combinations will receive a global multiplier. For every five moves, the global multiplier value increases by one spot on the multiplier meter. The reels will continue to spin until all the stacked wilds disappear from the reels.

Is the Samurai’s Katana slot fantastic or forgettable?
Samurai’s Katana slot offers a maximum multiplier of 10,000x your bet. This means that if you bet up to $30 per spin, you can win up to $300,000. If you have a little extra $30 per spin in your balance, bets start from just $0.10. Slots are characterized by high volatility. This means that gameplay tends to move away from small, consistent wins and towards much less frequent big wins. The RTP of the slot is 96.4%.
The official description for Samurai’s Katana slot on the Push Gaming website is “a dystopian future where cyborg killers are augmented with the latest technology and their skills are honed by practicing the ways of the samurai.” There is very little dystopian about this slot. Plus, if the Oni mask you use is almost identical to the mask worn by the villain in Big Hero 6, the dystopian angle is further diluted. I think if they had gone a darker route along the same lines as Alita: Battle Angel, they would have had a better chance at succeeding at the brief. That said, only nerds like me look into what developers want when they create the latest slots.
As a standalone product, it gets some serious Big Hero 6 vibes with a touch of Cyberpunk 2077. It was definitely a combination I liked and had a lot of potential. I wish they had leaned into the narrative a bit more and provided a cut scene or two. That said, the graphics were great and the bonus features were interesting and plentiful. This gets a 7 out of 10 thanks to the missed potential.
