DCG’s Barry Silbert has boldly proposed a merger of Genesis and Gemini in 2022 to save lenders.

In an October 20, 2022 email, Silbert described a lunch meeting with Winklevoss in which they discussed the challenges facing Genesis and, by extension, the Gemini Earn platform, which operates in conjunction with DCG-owned lenders. Silbert proposed a merger of the two companies, which would later allow the merged company to go public.
