Decrypt, Rug Radio and what ‘merge’ means to you

Decrypt and Rug Radio have tied the knot in a union designed to create the first honest-to-goodness cryptocurrency-based media giant.

If it works, it will forever change the way people think about “encrypted media.”

Otherwise we will keep our children.

joke!

Of course we think so is We look forward to showing you exactly how all the pieces fit together over the coming months and years.

Regardless, you, the reader, will have all sorts of questions swirling in your curious mind as you search the cryptocurrency Twitter threads for clues as to what this all means for your favorite destination for cryptocurrency, gaming, culture, and emerging technology news. There will be. So let’s address that issue here and now.

What about Decrypt, GG, SCENE, Degen Alley and Emerge?

First of all, Decrypt isn’t going anywhere. We are adding to our families, not subtracting from them. There will be no changes to current staff. Our hub will continue to produce all the great content you’re used to reading and watching. Our editorial team will continue to report separately from Rug to Decrypt’s Editor-in-Chief. feed.

phew. But what impact will this have on Decrypt’s journalism?

It doesn’t affect anything at all. Decrypt’s journalistic integrity will remain intact as our reporters continue to do their best.report the news. Our journalists will also continue to disclose any cryptocurrency they hold in their bios in accordance with the disclosure requirements listed on our home page.

So how will the Rug merger affect Decrypt?

Now we are talking. Something interesting happens here.

Rug Radio Network currently has a large number of content creators, many of whom are experts in fields ranging from cryptocurrency trading to gaming, NFT collecting, art curating, and more.

Our editors will work with Rug creators to include content with a unique look and feel on the Decrypt platform alongside traditional journalism. And this is a two-way street. Don’t be surprised if a Decrypt reporter appears on the Rug podcast or hosts his own podcast.

Our goal is to expand our collective reach by providing space for enthusiasts and insiders without compromising our credibility. It’s a win-win.

What about “(redacted)”? What does this have to do with detoxification?

(redacted) is a placeholder for the name of the new holding company representing Decrypt and Rug Radio. It sounds mysterious and frankly a bit off-kilter, but that’s neither here nor there.

The new entity is simply a means for Decrypt and Rug to coexist – one big, happy family. Loxley Fernandes (co-CEO of Rugg) will become CEO of the holding company, Farokh Sarmad (founder and co-CEO of Rug) will become president, and Josh Quittner (co-founder and CEO of Decrypt) will become chairman.

A holding company manages a company’s profits and resources. We will also build an advertising technology network on Arbitrum and issue tokens to strengthen the ecosystem. “What token??” bite. Stay tuned.

However, the important thing is that editing issues are handled independently by Decrypt and Rug. “Doesn’t (redacted) exercise editorial control?”

(Edited) No chance. We are not involved in editorial policy.
