Ethereum Name Service NFT Creator Joins GoDaddy to Offer Free Domain Use

Ethereum Name Service, a blockchain-based domain naming registry and the team behind the popular ENS: Ethereum Name Service Non-Fungible Token Collection, has partnered with GoDaddy to help domain name users connect their domains to ENS more seamlessly.

ENS Joins GoDaddy to Offer Free DNS Domain Use

In a February 5 press release, Ethereum Name Service confirmed a partnership with GoDaddy to allow domain name users to connect ENS-enabled web domains without any technical training. This announcement led to an 88% increase in ENS: Ethereum Name Service NFT transaction sales in the last 24 hours.

Founded in 1997, GoDaddy Inc. is an American publicly traded Internet domain registrar, domain registrar, and web hosting company. Since its founding, GoDaddy has grown traction by helping millions of entrepreneurs start, grow, and scale their businesses. As of 2023, GoDaddy is the world’s 5th largest web host by market share with over 62 million registered domains.

With the new integration, Ethereum Name Service expects to leverage GoDaddy system capabilities to make it easier for customers to use DNS domains in the ENS ecosystem. This partnership also marks an important milestone in bridging the gap between Domain Name System (DNS) and blockchain technology.

To put it simply, DNS is a naming database that translates readable address ‘domain names’ into unique strings of numbers called Internet Protocol addresses. Through the partnership, the team will provide integrated security and stability to domain owners. Commenting on the partnership, Nick Johnson, founder of ENS, said:

“We are furthering our mission to build a more secure, decentralized, and user-friendly Internet. ENS, like DNS, is a public good and a core part of the Internet infrastructure. By combining ENS names with GoDaddy domains, we will simplify the way users interact with their web domains by combining the familiarity of DNS with the potential of blockchain technology.”

Paul Nicks, President of Domains at GoDaddy, said:

“We are always looking for innovative improvements that can benefit our customers. “Our partnership with ENS provides our customers with a unique opportunity to experience the convergence of domain name and blockchain technology, providing significant benefits to our users in both areas.”

ENS NFT collection pump sales volume 88%

ENS: Ethereum Name Service, a non-fungible token hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network, reacted immediately to the partnership announcement, seeing an 88% increase in trading volume over the past 24 hours. During this period, the NFT collection accumulated a trading volume of 4.93 ETH. ENS was once one of a collection of NFTs declared dead due to poor performance.
