2023 was the year of: ethereum.org And that community โ we’re feeling a little nostalgic already. But it’s important that we create a space for the ethereum.org community to celebrate what we’ve built in 2023 and helped us continue the momentum in 2024.

๐ ethereum.org Writer Cohort
Try anything once, or twice if you like it. That’s why we hosted two editions of the Writers Cohort on ethereum.org. This is a three-week online program for people interested in writing about an Ethereum-related topic of their choice. With over 400 participants and over 540 articles published, we can safely say that the biggest highlight of this initiative has been bringing the community together to learn together, put their ideas down on paper, and support each other along the way! you can find #ETHWriters Summary On Twitter.
๐ ethereum.org Translatathon
With 56 languages, 217 participants, and 1.47 million words (๐คฏ) translated in a week-long online competition, Translatathon highlighted the importance of continuing to foster accessibility in Web3, one word at a time. This is one of our proudest achievements, and its impact and scale are truly impressive. self-summary post!
๐ก Translated images and diagrams
If it is not obvious, we believe that the experiences of people who do not speak English should be equal to those who speak English. So we translated the pages into Spanish (for example), but realized that leaving all the diagrams and images in English wasn’t ideal. Our team has developed a process to translate visual content, greatly improving the experience for anyone visiting our site who doesn’t speak English.

Want to start your web3 journey but a little worried about downloading a Dapp right away? We’ve all been there before. With this in mind, the ethereum.org team designed a user-friendly guide to using the wallet to improve the onboarding experience for new Ethereum users. Test it out and let me know what you think ๐.
๐ Geth and Solidity: The Internet’s New Home
In addition to maintaining ethereum.org, our core team supports web development across EF’s other projects. Over the past year we have been working on designing and deploying a new website for: Gothereum and firmness And we are very proud of the results. And more importantly, what impact this could have on the Ethereum ecosystem.
๐ผ๏ธ New year, new illustrations
We have entered a shining era by commissioning eight new illustrations for ethereum.org. It is now featured on all pages of the site (see some: layer 2, developer’s house, community hub). Even better than that, these works of art are open source, encouraging the Ethereum community to use them. Check out our assets page For more resources and inspiration!
๐คฒ Ethereum.org Contributor Round @GG19
With the help of some great people at Gitcoin, we have launched a support round to give back and reward community members who have made impactful contributions to ethereum.org. overall, 19 people received awardsAnd this initiative demonstrates our desire to find more ways to return value to our communities in 2024!
๐งฆ New product, who is it?
To show our appreciation for our contributors: In November, we shipped over 100 gift boxes to ethereum.org community members. socks photos It’s taken over our Twitter feeds… Well, at least we can all agree that they were pretty stylish!
๐ฒ Hack and play in the infinite garden
The idea began to emerge around mid-2023. Why not host a meetup where people can take a break from the busy Web3 events and spend some time playing card/board games with their community? I organized it based on that premise. (in)finite game Feedback from the Ethereum community at Devconnect IST has been overwhelmingly positive. Sadly (or not), my team was so busy playing Uno that we forgot to take pictures… devcon sea Then?
๐งญ Navigation redesign
ethereum.org is always a work in progress. Before wrapping up an eventful year, our team redesigned the website’s menu navigation, revamping the information architecture for better user navigation. We plan to roll out this feature early in Q1, so keep an eye out for these changes.
๐งฐ Migration to NextJS completed
With over 16,000 pages and tens of millions of views each year, the engine that keeps this ship moving cannot be overlooked! After much sweat, tears, and a lot of PR, we successfully migrated the ethereum.org technology stack to NextJS, paving the way for improved site performance, accessibility, and scalability. With these changes, we’re excited to launch many new features in 2024!
