Fuel Launches $1.3 Million Attackathon with Immunefi, Web3’s Largest Crowdsourced Security Auditor
fuelan operating system purpose-built to roll out Ethereum, today announced a strategic partnership with: immune, the leading crowdsourced security platform for the web3, protecting over $60 billion in assets. The Alliance is launching its largest Attackathon ever, with a total prize pool of $1.3 million. It consists of a $1 million prize pool for the Attackathon and a $300,000 dedicated program for the top four ecosystem decentralized applications (dApps).
Attackathons are curated, crowdsourced security audits conducted by elite security researchers combined with a comprehensive community training program. This event will stress test the Fuel code base and the top four ecosystem projects to identify and address potential vulnerabilities, while also engaging a community of security researchers about the technology and the overall ecosystem ahead of Fuel’s mainnet launch in Q3 2024. We will foster. Maximize engagement with best-in-class security researchers with a time-limited code review program. Unlike traditional audits, which require projects to wait until the end of the audit to assess potential vulnerabilities, critical reports appear in real time as Fuel’s program runs. Additionally, attendees will have access to a “Fueled Education Week” with educational blog posts, live streams on the technology stack, interviews with renowned security researchers, and Q&A sessions.
Unlike traditional virtual machines (VMs) designed for layer 1 (L1) blockchains or general-purpose computation systems, Fuel offers the first special-purpose VMs that unlock new capabilities for Ethereum rollups. Powered by FuelVM, Fuel aims to extend Ethereum’s feature set without compromising security or decentralization. By executing transactions in parallel, Fuel ensures a high-quality user experience while being able to scale to meet users’ growing demand for transaction bandwidth. Fuel, which allows rollups to address PSI (parallelization, state-minimized execution, and interoperability), allows any chain builder to deploy highly scalable rollups and app chains to solve any type of use case.
“Fuel is set to usher in a new era of Ethereum rollups and we want to make sure we have the highest security standards in place. Our partnership with Immunefi is an important step in this effort, underscoring our commitment to securing the ecosystem ahead of mainnet launch and fostering a security-first culture among all contributors,” said Nick Dodson, CEO and co-founder of Fuel Labs. . .
Immunefi operates the largest web3 security community with over 45,000 researchers. Protects over $60 billion in user funds from existing projects such as Chainlink, Wormhole, MakerDAO, TheGraph, Synthetix, Polygon, and Optimism., And more. Immunefi has paid out some of the most significant bug bounties in the software industry, paying out over $95 million while saving over $25 billion in user funds. Immunefi currently offers over $161 million in bounties. Together with researchers at Immunefi, we discovered vulnerabilities that 80% of projects had missed in their audits.
“We are excited to partner with Fuel to launch the largest Attackathon in the industry and help build a security-focused community around the technology and ecosystem,” said Mitchell Amador, Founder and CEO of Immunefi. “Ensuring security remains a top and ongoing concern. We are taking additional steps to not only recruit the best security talent for Fuel stress testing, but also train them on essential technical aspects throughout the program.”
“We look forward to seeing how Fuel’s technology will improve the ecosystem and are committed to supporting them on their journey to build a more secure and resilient future for the decentralized economy,” said Sajjad Rehman, Vice President of Revenue at Immunefi. “He said. “We’ve had tremendous success with our time-limited security program, and we look forward to Fuel taking advantage of its effectiveness.”
Building a security-focused community
Fuel’s Attackathon will feature an in-depth training component with dedicated resources such as techniques and Attackathon guides, making it more accessible to the broader community of security researchers and more engaged in the ecosystem. Immunefi will host Fuel Education Week, introducing Fuel’s technology to security researchers through regular live streams, Q&As, and strongly curated educational resources. Customized support is available through a dedicated Discord channel where security researchers can contact the Fuel and Immunefi teams directly to clarify additional questions about the program, technology, and resources.
