How to get the most points with airdrop

Gitcoin Passport helps you verify your identity online by gathering evidence from multiple sources without sharing personal information. Having a Gitcoin Passport above a certain score is important because many protocols have set it as a requirement to qualify for token airdrops. However, getting the required number of points (typically projects require 20 points) can be difficult and time-consuming. Here is a Gitcoin Passport guide on how to get the maximum number of points for airdrops.

What is Gitcoin Passport?

Gitcoin Passport is an identity aggregator for Web3 that allows users to collect verifiable credentials known as “stamps” from a variety of authenticators while preserving their privacy. Key features include:

  • Identity Verification: Gitcoin Passport acts as a Web3 identity aggregator, allowing users to collect verifiable credentials (aka “stamps”) from a variety of authenticators.
  • Privacy Policy: Protects your privacy by generating verifiable credentials without collecting personally identifiable information.
  • Various applications: Although designed to be application-independent, it is particularly useful for identity verification and organizational design.
  • Web2 and Web3 integration: Users can link stamps across Web2 (e.g. Google, LinkedIn) and Web3 (e.g. Holonym, Civic) platforms.

Why do I need a Gitcoin Passport for airdrops?

Many protocols and projects require a certain minimum score on Gitcoin Passport to be eligible for token airdrops. The main purpose of Gitcoin Passport is to combat sybils, where people use multiple accounts to receive airdrops, giving them an unfair advantage over others. Therefore, most projects require users to have at least 20 points to be eligible for token airdrops.
