Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd. (up 0.68%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (up 0.19%) and Bandhan Bank Ltd. (up 0.17%) closed with the highest gains of the day.
On the other hand, Federal Bank Ltd. (down -1.92%), State Bank of India (down 1.64%), Axis Bank Ltd. (down 1.32%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 1.14%) and National Bank of Punjab (down 1.07%). fell) ended as the biggest loser of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed at 48564.55, down 0.86%.
The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index closed 234.4 points lower at 22519.4, while the BSE Sensex closed 793.25 points lower at 74244.9.
Of the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, seven ended in the green and 43 ended in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Reliance Power and BEL were among the most traded stocks on the NSE. Shares of Krystal Integrated, Nandan Denim, DP Abhushan, Yuken India and Puravankara hit new 52-week lows in today’s trading, while shares of Sinclairs Hotel, Best Agrolife, HUL, Dabur India and MEP Infrastructure hit new 52-week lows.
