Introducing a cooler ‘basic’ chart

November 22, 2025

We just finished rolling out a major upgrade. What I call the ‘basic’ chart Throughout the site. This is a chart that pops up when you hover (or tap on mobile) the chart icon in the scan results list.

You can also view them on the “Full Chart Page” page.

Full page of interactive charts

And it will be displayed in the “Basic Charts” tab of the stock’s main page.

No longer basic

These new charts are built on TradingView’s Lightweight Charts, the same underlying technology suite as the full-fledged TradingView widgets you already use on your main stock page. So it has a familiar look and feel, but is tuned for speed and clarity in scan, list, and hover contexts. The biggest change from traditional “basic” charts is interactivity. Now on the chart This is a tooltip that shows the price on the day the cursor is placed. You can also zoom in and out and scroll the chart.

What has changed

  • Always preload Up to 600 days of historical data For smooth zooming and panning.
  • Initial View Respect Set desired number of days (e.g. 30, 60, 120) Keeps extended records immediately accessible.
  • Consistent (albeit limited) behavior with the main TradingView widget.
  • Compared to previous static charts, the new view is interactive.
  • Rich hover tooltip: Crosshair hover displays OHLC, volume, date change (absolute and percentage) and active overlay.
  • dedicated volume window: To keep price action clean and easy to read, volumes are rendered in their own window.

Report a problem/Share an idea

Upgrades are now live across searches, alerts, and multi-chart views. Because it’s based on TradingView’s lightweight charts, you should get used to it right away, making routine screening and monitoring much faster and more focused.

This new chart is a huge step forward for us and will continue to evolve. I’m still tweaking a few things as I use the site more and discover little things. If you encounter any problems, glitches, or confusing behavior, or if you have suggestions for improving the charts, please send them to me. So we can continue to improve the experience.
