IOTA Announces Key Leadership Changes to Drive Future Growth


According to the IOTA Foundation blog, the IOTA Foundation has announced significant changes to its leadership structure, marking a new phase in the organization’s development. Dr. Navin Ramachandran will join the Supervisory Board, and Dr. Anja Raden, Jan Misselwitz and Dr. Luca Moser will join the Board of Directors. Dr. Christoph Strnadl will also lead the newly established Technology Adoption Department.

New appointments to the Supervisory Board and Board of Directors

Dr. Navin Ramachandran, who has been with the IOTA Foundation since 2016, will now serve on the Oversight Board. Ramachandran brings a wealth of experience as a practicing physician and medical researcher. He previously served on the Board of Directors and advised the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain. Joining him on the Supervisory Board are Professor Serguei Popov, research mathematician and co-founder of IOTA, and Clinton Walker, General Counsel at Barclays Bank Delaware.

Current Board of Directors Composition

With Ramachandran’s transition, the Board of Directors will now appoint Dr. Ramachandran to oversee legal and regulatory affairs. It consists of Anja Raden. Jan Misselwitz, Finance and Human Resources; Luca Moser, responsible for research and development. The Board of Directors will be chaired by Dominik Schiener, co-founder of the IOTA Foundation.

Director of Adoption of New Technologies: Dr. Christoph Strnadl

Dr. Christoph Strnadl has been appointed Director of Adoption of New Technologies. Strnadl has over 30 years of expertise in IT consulting and management, with a focus on leveraging technology for business advantage. His previous roles include strategic consultant and business manager at Atos, and several technical leadership positions at Software AG, where he ultimately became Vice President.

Strnadl’s role is critical in driving technology adoption initiatives within the business-to-business (B2B) and enterprise domains. His projects include tokenization of physical assets, digital identity framework, and Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP).

Composition of technology introduction department

The establishment of the Technology Adoption Department is an important milestone for the IOTA Foundation. This new division aligns with the Foundation’s mission to drive real-world applications of IOTA technology. Other departments within the foundation include Ecosystem, Finance and People, Research and Development, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, and Communications.

By diversifying its decision-making structure and strengthening expertise across different domains, the IOTA Foundation aims to explore new horizons and achieve its vision of a decentralized and scalable future. With Dr. Navin Ramachandran in his new role and Dr. Christoph Strnadl leading technology adoption, the Foundation is well-positioned for continued growth and innovation in the evolving distributed ledger technology landscape.
