The worst participants in this session were: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (TYO:) was down 6.78% or 30.70 points to trade at 422.10 at the close. Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 6.20% or 321.00 points to close at 4,854.00 and Mazda Motor Corp (TYO:) was down 5.91% or 91.50 points to close at 1,456.00.

The number of stocks that fell on the Tokyo Stock Exchange outnumbered those that rose by 2,745 (927) and 208 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was down 0.77% at 141.78 and EUR/JPY was down 0.55% at 154.54.

U.S. dollar index futures fell 0.24% to 102.23.
