Jeff Bezos sold 50 million shares of Amazon stock for about $8 billion this month.
Amazon.com Inc. founder and chairman Jeff Bezos has sold an additional $2 billion worth of stock in recent days, bringing his total stock sales this month to about $8 billion.
From Thursday to Tuesday, Bezos sold about 14 million shares for about $2.2 billion, ranging from $166.41 to $170.89 per share, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Bezos previously sold about 36 million shares, about 12 million each, since Feb. 7. The most recent sale brings the total number of shares to approximately 50 million. This is the maximum amount under prior plans to sell some of Amazon stock by January 2025.

Ben Silverman, VerityData vice president of research, previously noted that a review of Bezos’ past sales activity suggests he is likely to focus his sales over a few days rather than spread them out over weeks or months.
Bezos still owns about $164 billion worth of Amazon stock. As of Tuesday, Bezos was worth about $191 billion, ranking third behind Elon Musk ($209 billion) and Bernard Arnault ($193 billion), according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
