KZG Awards Grant Round | Ethereum Foundation Blog

The Protocol Support team is organizing a grant round to support upcoming projects. Ethereum KZG Awards Ceremony.

The KZG event is a coordinated public ceremony that will provide a cryptographic foundation for Ethereum expansion plans such as: EIP-4844. Learn more about the awards ceremony and participate in a test version. event.ethereum.org. If you would like to be funded for a deeper level of contribution, there are two ways to qualify.

  • Write your own implementation
  • Submit entropy generated through non-traditional sources or unique processes

Apply by January 31st Or learn more below.

Write your own implementation

The best way to avoid bugs affecting the entire event is to have as many different implementations as possible. This eliminates the possibility of a single point of failure due to software implementation bugs and reduces other associated risks. To this end, we are interested in funding a variety of implementations, especially those with the following features:

  • Custom/tailored BLS implementation
  • Auditable Code
  • Easy to use interface
  • Generate good randomness
  • Proprietary language and compiler
  • Ready-to-use implementation early in the contribution phase (starting in early January and running for up to two months)

This event has been specifically designed to make participation as simple as possible. We encourage everyone to take a look together. specification.

The proposed funding request ranges from $500 up to $10,000 for a basic >> fully featured implementation.

A unique way to contribute

Another way to ensure that the final product of your event is unbiased is to collect entropy (randomness) and have it destroyed in creative ways. We welcome the following suggestions:

  • A unique form of entropy collection
  • We contribute this entropy to the event.
  • Destroys entropy later
  • Document the above in a reliable and verifiable manner (e.g. video evidence, blog posts with photos, detailed written records).

Submit proposal

Anyone who thinks they can achieve some of the above points is encouraged to apply for this grant round, either as an individual or as a team.

Subsidies are paid sequentially on a case-by-case basis. You can enter more than one proposal as long as each proposal is unique and meets your requirements.

Apply by January 31st
