Manta Token Staking Guide for Ecosystem Airdrops

Manta Network is a blockchain platform that enables developers to build and launch applications and dApps on Ethereum using zero-knowledge (ZK) technology. It offers low transaction fees, impressive scalability, and developer-friendly features. The Manta airdrop is over, but you can still use Manta tokens to receive more airdrops. In particular, you can receive more airdrops by staking your Manta tokens to verifiers (e.g. validators) in the Manta ecosystem. Here is our Manta token staking guide:

Check out our step-by-step guide on how to prepare for multiple Manta Network airdrops!

How can I find upcoming airdrops in the Manta ecosystem?

There are over 180 live projects in the Manta ecosystem, many of which are already live. However, if you’re looking for upcoming airdrops in the Manta ecosystem, you should look for projects that say “coming soon” like Aori, Double Protocol, or Sending Me. However, this does not guarantee that an airdrop will occur or what the airdrop criteria will be. Because it’s up to each project to decide.

One of the common eligibility criteria for airdrops is ecosystem staking (in this case, staking on the Manta network). Therefore, one way to prepare for a potential Manta ecosystem project airdrop is to stake $MANTA with collators (e.g. validators).

How to stake Manta tokens for multiple airdrops?

There are many Collators in the Manta Atlantic network. See here. However, staking Manta on the Manta Atlantic network may be difficult for some as the minimum staking requirements are quite high. The current minimum staking requirement is 594 $MANTA, with some Collators requiring a minimum of 1,459 Manta! However, with Bifrost you can actually liquid-stake $MANTA tokens with no minimum staking requirement! Additionally, liquid staking on Bifrost will qualify you for Manta ecosystem token airdrops. This is because liquid staking on Bifrost is still considered a delegation of tokens to verifiers (i.e. validators) in the Manta ecosystem.

Here’s how to stake Manta tokens for multiple airdrops:

  1. Get your Polkadot wallet

Bifrost’s Manta staking takes place on the Bifrost Polkadot network. So you will need a Polkadot wallet such as SubWallet, Talisman, Enkrypt or Polkadot.js. We use SubWallet, a Chrome extension that you can download here.

  2. Receive $MANTA tokens

Collect $MANTA tokens from the Manta airdrop (learn more about the Manta token airdrop here). However, since the airdrop was on the Manta Pacific network, you will need to connect your tokens to the Manta Atlantic network to stake.

Alternatively, you can purchase Manta tokens from centralized exchanges such as Bybit, Binance or KuCoin exchanges.

    Register your Bybit account here!

  3. Token connection to Manta Pacific

If you plan to stake your airdropped $MANTA, you will need to connect your tokens to the Manta Atlantic Network for staking. This is because the airdrop took place on the Manta Pacific network.

To link tokens from Manta Pacific to the Manta Atlantic network, connect Metamask to https://app.manta.network/manta/bridge. Select Manta Pacific as the “From” network and Manta Atlantic as the “To” network. Then select the number of $MANTA tokens you want to bridge. Then simply find your Manta Atlantic address in SubWallet and paste the address or click “Import Address.” Check out the deal.

Manta tokens are connected via the Moonbeam network. The entire connection process takes approximately 10 minutes. do not do that Leave the window and make sure you don’t lose your internet connection during this process. Otherwise the Manta token will be locked to Moonbeam.

  4. Cross your Manta tokens on Bifrost

Connect your Subwallet to https://bifrost.app/vstake/vMANTA and click “Cross in”. Manta tokens will then be moved from the Manta Atlantic network to the Bifrost address. Select the number of $MANTAs you want to cross and click “Cross in”. Once the transaction is complete, you can check your $MANTA balance under “My Staking” on the main page.

  5. Stake $MANTA

On the staking page, select the amount of $MANTA you wish to stake and click “Stake”. You can earn $vMANTA by staking.

For reference, we staked approximately $1,000 worth of $MANTA. This is to prevent you from being misidentified as Sybil or a bot farmer and disqualified from receiving the airdrop.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How to decouple $MANTA tokens from the Moonbeam Network

If your $MANTA tokens are staked on Moonbeam, connect Metamask to Celer Network’s cBridge. Reconnect $MANTA tokens from Moonbeam to Manta Pacific on cBridge. To verify that your Manta token has actually been reconnected, go to Moonscan and enter your address. Connecting from Manta Pacific to Manta Atlantic means the $MANTA tokens will be released from the Moonbeam network and then the process will have to be repeated again.

Alternatively, you can use Stellaswap’s XC-Transfer feature to transfer Moonbeam directly to the Manta Atlantic network. To do this, connect MetaMask to your page, select “Manta.xc” as the token you want to send, then click “Withdraw.” Then connect your Subwallet. We recommend testing with 1 $MANTA first to make sure the transaction works properly.
