March 2023 Work Progress Report: Calculator for ASICs, multi-node update
ASIC Profitability Calculation
2CryptoCalc.com has established itself as a fast and user-friendly graphics card mining profitability calculator. An important update was made this March. Added support for ASIC miners. From now on, you just need to select the number of ASIC devices you have and the calculator will provide you with a compensation estimate.
By estimating profitability, miners can determine whether their investment in ASIC mining hardware will yield a positive return. Remember that 2CryptoCalc does not take electricity costs into account. Calculating profitability allows miners to gauge their competitiveness and adjust their strategies accordingly by upgrading hardware or relocating to regions with lower energy costs. Profitability calculations also help miners decide which cryptocurrency to mine based on current market conditions, including factors such as network difficulty and coin value. Unfortunately, ASIC systems are not as flexible as GPUs and generally do not have a wide selection of coins to choose from.
The new Most Profitable ASICs page provides a complete list of ASIC devices that appear in the calculator. You can sort machines by daily mining revenue and estimate your return on investment.
Mining Pool Updates
Keeping cryptocurrency nodes in your mining pool up to date is important for several reasons. First, updates often include patches and improvements to protect against potential attacks, ensuring the security and stability of your network. Second, we integrate optimizations and adjustments into the software to improve mining efficiency and performance. Lastly, keeping up to date allows miners to adapt to changes in consensus protocols and algorithms, ensuring compatibility and avoiding potential revenue losses.
This month we updated nodes for many mining pools, including Aeternity, Zcash, Horizen, Firo, and Flux. We are also planning to launch a mining pool for this coin soon, so we have installed a Kaspa node on our server.
AE v6.8.1-a42c1b1 Fix bug in microblock creation.
ZEC 5.4.2 Fixes a memory exhaustion vulnerability inherited from Bitcoin Core.
Zen v3.3.1 We support future updates to ZEN v4, which will further ensure the stability and safety of your code.
FIRO v0.14.12.1-gc7e3ef0e6 Includes emergency fixes to address a zero-day vulnerability affecting many projects that derive code from the Bitcoin foundation. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to crash individual nodes by sending specially crafted p2p messages.
flux 6.1.0-782daee Includes RPC optimizations, performance improvements, snapshot creation and RPC calls, multiprocessing optimizations, and various bug fixes.
Caspard v0.12.13 This is the latest version of KAS Node software. We installed this to deploy a mining pool for this coin.
