MicroStrategy acquired 850 bitcoins for $37.2 million in January.

MicroStrategy said it purchased an additional 850 bitcoins in January for $37.2 million. by post says Michael Saylor, company founder and chairman.

He also said in a message posted on social media platform X that the company currently holds a total of 190,000 bitcoins. Saylor also announced that MicroStrategy will discuss its fourth quarter financial results on Tuesday.

The prices of the most popular cryptocurrencies by market capitalization seemed to see-saw throughout January due to the launch of several spot Bitcoin ETFs. At one point, the price of Bitcoin reached nearly $49,000, according to The Block’s price page. As of 4:28 PM ET on Tuesday, Bitcoin is trading at $43,156.

Last November, MicroStrategy said it could raise up to $750 million through the sale of new Class A common stock. By the end of December, the company had sold 1 million shares for $610 million.
