mtgox – BTC Early Adopter – Is there a way to recover my wallet on Mt Gox now?
In 2011, I mined BTC through BTCMine.com and traded the results to Mt. I deposited it into Gox’s wallet. I didn’t have a local copy of my wallet files and of course the first hack was to reveal my account details. So the deposits stopped.
Then there was a bigger hack where Mt Gox lost a lot of BTC and went bankrupt, exiting the cryptocurrency entirely. At the time, my wallet was too small to worry about and I didn’t think there was anything worth it. I haven’t seen anything like that in ten years…
Now I have news that Mt Gox is close to finishing its court work, and BitPay’s Insight tool shows that I still have a balance in my wallet in the master ledger. But I only have the payment address I found in previous emails from Mt Gox and BTCMine.
Since my BTC balance is still there and my coins don’t seem to have been stolen, does anyone know if there is a chance I can access my wallet on Mt Gox?
